ST. THOMAS, BARBADOS—The inaugural Bajan Fusion Women’s Wellness Walk, a powerful initiative themed “From Puberty to Pregnancy to Perimenopause and Beyond!”, proved to be a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd that reached full capacity. Approximately 160 women and girls from across Barbados, representing a diverse range of ages and backgrounds, participated in the empowering event on Saturday, March 30th, 2025.

The walk commenced around 3:00 PM at the St. Thomas Parish Church, with participants embarking on a scenic 3K route to the historic Rock Hall Freedom Village. The atmosphere was vibrant and celebratory, with mothers, daughters, sisters, and fempreneurs uniting for a common cause: raising awareness about women’s health at all life stages.

Beyond the walk, the event featured engaging activities such as prize-giving and plank challenges, adding fun and friendly competition to the day. The energy was palpable, reflecting the community’s strong support for women’s well-being.

The event also garnered significant attention from local organisations and government bodies. Representatives from the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Division of Culture were present, underscoring the importance of this initiative for the nation’s health and social fabric.

An all-female photography team from the Snap Happy Collective added a unique perspective to the event. They skillfully captured the day’s memorable moments, highlighting the power of women supporting women in various fields.

The success of the Bajan Fusion Women’s Wellness Walk marks a promising start to Bajan Fusion’s ambitious two-year initiative, which aims to host quarterly wellness events across all 11 parishes of Barbados. This movement is set to foster community empowerment, encourage active lifestyles, and provide crucial support for women and youth through movement, education, and engagement. The overwhelming turnout and positive feedback from the first event signal a bright future for this vital initiative.
