DaSilva and Marzville Unleash High-Energy Crop Over 2025 Anthem “Drunk”

New Song Drunk is being well-received by locals.

Bridgetown, Barbados May 31, 2025 Just in time for the Crop Over season, rising soca talent Dasilva has dropped his latest anthem, “Drunk”, featuring the electrifying Marzville. Released earlier this month, the track is already gaining significant traction online, with fans embracing its infectious rhythm, feel-good energy, and undeniable potential to dominate the road.

“I feel real good about this one, very confident,” says Dasilva. “The response so far has been amazing. It’s great to see people already connecting with the energy.”

The Inspiration Behind “Drunk”: A Celebration of Carefree Crop Over Vibes

“Drunk” is inspired by a lighthearted phrase Dasilva and his crew often say during their outings: “Why get sober just to get drunk again?” That carefree motto became the heartbeat of a song that celebrates fun, freedom, and the vibes of Crop Over.

“It’s a fun song, not to be taken literally,” he explains. “I always encourage people to drink responsibly. It’s really about capturing that joyful, unfiltered moment when everyone’s just living in the vibe.”

A Fusion of Caribbean Sounds: Dasilva and Marzville’s Potent Chemistry

The track marks Dasilva’s first-ever collaboration with Marzville, and their chemistry is instantly evident. Produced by Fraser Recordz, “Drunk” blends modern and traditional soca elements, bringing together Grenadian jab jab, Trinidadian-style energy, and a vibrant Bajan flavor for a true Caribbean fusion that resonates across island borders. Originally recorded in New York City, the song was later reworked and finalized at Marzville’s studio in Barbados, giving it a polished sound perfect for both the fete and the road.

“This tune have a lot a vibes,” says Dasilva. “It’s a tempo we can all groove to, and I believe it’s going to mash up the party and shell down the road.”

DaSilva and Marzville have released their single Drunk.

Dasilva also pushed his creative boundaries with this release, experimenting with a new flow and vocal delivery. “I’m doing more singing than usual, and the style is something I’ve never really done before. It’s refreshing.”

Looking Ahead: Performances, Music Video, and Global Soca Domination

While no official Crop Over performances have been announced yet, Dasilva confirms that conversations are ongoing with promoters, and a music video is currently in production, promising even more hype in the coming weeks. Reflecting on his artistic journey, Dasilva says, “I’ve grown so much and sometimes I even surprise myself. I’ve come a far way, and I’m still learning.”

For Dasilva, Crop Over is both a cultural celebration and a professional milestone. “It’s my favorite time of the year. Seeing people from all over the world come together to celebrate is pure joy.” With plans to promote “Drunk” internationally and bring it to carnivals across the globe, Dasilva is committed to pushing soca to new audiences. “Soca has a growing fan base, and I want to be part of taking it even further. This is happy music, and the world needs more of it.”

“Drunk” by Dasilva featuring Marzville is now available on all major streaming platforms.
